Ashland County Town Insurance Company was formed on August 1, 1901 in Butternut, WI with business commencing on November 30, 1901. Our company is a mutual company, which means that it is owned by the policyholders. When the company started, the business was conducted out of the homes of the officers. Then in 1973, the company rented its first office space, which was located in downtown Butternut where they remained for 37 years. The company then purchased its own building and moved in January 8, 2010 to its current location, which is 305 South Fifth Street in Butternut, WI.
The company is staffed with two full time employees and one part-time employee. We also have a Board of Directors which consists of eight members.
